About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

Zoo day!

Happy Mother's Day - to all the wonderful mothers I know!
Yesterday was great! Dmitri woke me up around 8:30, and
said, "Daddy make pancake breakfast. Mother's {Day} breakfast."
I asked if he wanted to go eat breakfast with me, he said,
"Umm... no. Mother's {Day} pancakes."

Before breakfast, I got to open my present. I had told Daniel
I wanted a food processor. I have a Cuisineart Mini Prep, and
it's a bit too small. So I got a Ninja! My mom has one, so I've
used her's - and it's pretty cool! Can't wait to whip it out! :)

For breakfast, we had coconut pancakes, then got ready for
church. I didn't have a lesson that day, because Primary was
being taken over by the guys. So I got to go to Sunday School
and Relief Society!
Daniel got to teach the CTR 5 class - he even had a partner
to help! LOL and they only had two kids... He was joking that
with just two kids, they couldn't get the kids names straight!
His teaching partner kept calling the little boy Robert, and
the little girl in the class, finally said, "You know his name's
David, right?"
Dmitri made me a cute picture, similar to the one they did
last year. His hand has gotten so much bigger, and I guess
he has too! I guess seeing him everyday, you don't notice
how much they grow!
For dinner, we had kalua pork and rice. Daniel made a gravy
for it, and everything was so yummy!!
So yes, it was a great Mother's Day! :)

Backtracking a bit... last Weds, Dmitri and I went to the zoo
and Aquarium! We hadn't been to the ones here, in awhile,
and we needed a fun day out! So we dropped Daniel off at
work, and we headed to the Aquarium.
It's a pretty small aquarium, so we finished in about an
hour. I think Dmitri definitely shares my love of fish tanks
and aquariums. He loved looking at all the different fish.
He also got the take the automated guided tour... which he
loved! He would not let go of his "remote."He was in awe of the people cleaning the tank... and the tank.So this tank, there was a red painted frogfish. He asked
me where the frog was. I pointed and told him it's in the
corner. He looked at the red thing, and said, "No mommy,
I don't see frog." He kept looking all over the tank, looking
for an actual frog...
Checking out the sleeping monk seal...This little fish, kept swimming up to Dmitri. I think he
was looking for food...
I love to watch jellyfish swim
After the Aquarium, we headed to the zoo. They're pretty
close to each other, but we still had to drive over.

Dmitri didn't need a ticket, because he's under 3. But he
really wanted one! The lady in the ticket booth, gave him
a map for his ticket, and he was very excited! Especially
after opening it, and discovering the map inside! :}
{he loves maps}
He was really excited to get into the zoo, and explore.
So he took off running, as soon as we got through the
gate. Unfortunately... he slid and fell in a mud puddle.

He was NOT happy! He got up and exclaimed, "DIMY
DIRTY!" He's does love himself some dirt... but I guess
mud is another story. He also skinned his knee and hand.
So we ducked behind a bush, and striped him down to
his skivvies, for a shorts change. Then cleaned his hand
the best I could. He wanted a "bandin" for his hand, which
was bleeding - but I didn't have one. So he wasn't happy
about that! Now, I carry bandaids in my bag, in case we
have another incident...

After our exciting entrance, we headed to see the elephants,
since they're the first thing, after the entrance.
He kept putting his hand through the fence, trying to get
them to come to him...After the elephants, onto monkey island, and the turtles.
He was very excited for the turtles. He's gotten into
Wonder Pets, and he pointed out which one he thought
was turtle tuck. And since we found turtle tuck, we also
had to find Lennie and Ming Ming {Wing Wing as Dmitri
calls her...}We checked out the orangutans...
And Dmitri tried to break in, to go play with them...
We looked at more animals, then we stopped for a treat.
We got a big thing of rainbow shaved ice! It was tasty!!The food area is right next to the playground... so of course
we had to stop... for a long time........ But he had fun.
There was a little girl playing with this, and he was
waiting for her to leave. He wouldn't venture too far,
in case she got up. Then he could be next in line... So
when she left, he jumped on it! And as you can see,
he was very excited!
This is one of the trees, that shades the playground.
I thought it was pretty cool.
After the playground, we went to the Keiki zoo, to pet some
animals. If you remember my last zoo post... Dmitri has a
thing for the goats. And this goat had a thing for my leg....This tunnel was fun to run in... until we noticed the
sign, right in front of our face... :}He did get to climb trough the guinea pig tunnels, on the
other side. I didn't get a pic though. We saw Lennie from
Wonder Pets... but I didn't get a pic...
We also saw "Ming Ming's mom! But no Ming Ming...But lastly, we went to see the zebras and giraffes, and
found MING MING! Well... good enough at least! This
duckling wasn't all yellow. Close enough! :)
Add ImageWhen we first got to the zoo, I was thinking we'd get
bored - having to stay until it was time to pick up Daniel.
Turns out, we missed a bunch of animals, and were 10
minutes late getting to the hospital! Luckily he was late
getting out. So we ended up with prefect timing :)
Dmitri, of course, fell asleep as soon as we pulled out of the
parking lot.

We had a pool day last week - and then a lot of rainy days
afterwards! So we have a bit of cabin fever. And a lot of
random phone pics... for your viewing pleasure.

Heading to the store... I accidently slammed his fingers
in his dresser... so he's showing me his {Curious} George
bandins. He used to call bandaids stickers, but now calls
them bandins.
I was doing some laundry the other day, and he was
hungry. I told him to hang on, and he decided he didn't
have time to wait. So he took the BBQ pork out of the
fridge... along with a bun. I got to him, before he could
make himself a sandwich...
We also made some fresh squeezed lemonade!
9 lemons... and a whole LOTTA sugar!
I brought dinner for some friends in our ward, that
had just had a baby. They brought our dishes back,
along with some cute and yummy cookies! I gave
Dmitri one that night... then he snuck another later
on...
Going for a walk... with all his gear, even though he
sat in his stroller :} He's adjusting his sunglasses,
that are tucked inside his hat... :]
He wont like me for this picture... but ohwell, I thought
it was funny! :}
