About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

On a roll!

But it wont last... I'm babysitting for
the next three days, so we'll be stuck
inside. But - this is the last week I'll
be doing it! :]

Alright, so we needed to get out of the
house.
I decided on the zoo, it just seemed like
a good day to go.

It wasn't too busy there, but it sure
was toasty!!
But we made it through, and luckily
made the smart choice, and brought
a lot of cold drinks and ice packs.

I have to say, what a difference a few
months make!
We went to the Honolulu Zoo back in
February. And even though Dmitri
wasn't horrible, he was all over the
place.
This time he stayed close {for the most
part} and listened. So woot!

We got there at noon, and there was a
bit of a line, but it moved quick.
I realized as we were walking in, that
I forgot my memory card at home... so
I had to rely on my phone. Which means
I didn't take a lot of animal pics... just
Dmitri. If you want to see the animals... refer to
this post :)

First, came the elephants.
Kind of wish the elephant was turned
the other way...checking out monkey islandhe insisted that he walk on every curb we sawchecking out the awesome tree, and the
birds living in itThere was an aquarium in the Keiki zoo,
and you could crawl under it, and stand
up in the middle.
So Dmitri is watching everyone stick their
heads out of the holeHis turn! He loved it in there!
They also had a barrel you could spin,
and it'd pick up and move water.
{this was the scene of his MASSIVE
blowout last time. This time was much
better!}
Dmitri's favorite... the goats at the
petting zoo.
He kept trying to kiss them... on the
lips. He didn't succeed, thanks to me,
but he did succeed in licking the ground.
Which might be worse....talking to the goat, and informing the
goat where it's nose is
he loved petting them, and staring them
down...
Breaking for a snackWe were feeding the birds, and Dmitri
goes to drop a goldfish. But before he
could, this little sparrow flies up and
tries to take the goldfish out of Dmitri's
hand!
Dmitri just looked at me, not knowing
how to react. But... then he reacted by
eating the goldfish.
So goat germs and bird germs... awesome.Alright... Dmitri sleeping the other day...
{we were in the driveway at home in this pic}
And... it's awesome when you're driving
down the road, and all the sudden, you
feel little hands on your chair.
Come to realize, Dmitri's hanging out of
his carseat. This kid is Houdini!!!
He needs a 10 point harness!!
{we were parked at Safeway in this pic...}

  2. That zoo looks really nice. Makes me wish we didn't live so far from the San Francisco one.
Andrew falls asleep in his car seat the same way. Sometime I wonder if people in other cars can see him and think I'm a bad mom or something, for letting his head flop. But I have tried everything, I can't fix it.
