About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

Guilt

You guys. I cannot believe how long it has been, since my last post!
I've probably said that in my last 5 blogs posts, though...

I pulled up my blog for the first time in forever, in search of a picture.
While I was scrolling through, I was reading about all of our adventures,
and seeing Dmitri's cute little face. I started to feel guilty that I don't have
every little moment of my girls' lives documented (Okay, actually I do have
everything documented, just not as in depth), like I do Dmitri's -- and
that's something I should have blogged about over a year ago! We have
another little girl, sweet Lydia Eden, who was born back on September
24th, 2014. She has been such a blessing to our family. She is silly, and
cuddly, and sassy, and perfect.

I want to blog about everything, but I don't even know where to start. So
maybe just with updates??

Daniel has been working at his current duty station, for almost 4 years
now. It's been a good experience, and I think he's enjoyed the people
he has worked with. But, military life doesn't keep you anywhere for
too long. So late spring, early summer 2016, we are headed up to
Maryland. He's going to be starting a doctorate program there,
and we will be there for 2-3 years.

Dmitri is in the second grade, and has been doing great! The same
habits still apply. He talks too much... That's usually the biggest complaint
from his teachers. Too much, inappropriate times, off subject, etc. But at
this point I think it's just who he is. We've tried to channel that chattiness,
but he just has a lot to say, I guess!
This year he started flag football, and this past summer he did softball, and
did fall soccer, and swimming.
Swimming is the top of his like list, of course. So I think we're going to
start back up in January. Soccer has been his least favorite. But we sign
him up anyways... He is not so much a team player, though he has rocked
football. He likes to do his thing, and not have to depend, and work with
others.
Daniel has been prepping Dmitri for his baptism. I don't know how he
has gotten to this age so fast! I feel like he's still supposed to be like 4!
But I am so excited for him, and I will probably ball my eyes out on his
baptism day...
Dmitri loves science, and does good in math and grammar/english. He still
struggles with his handwriting, but since I don't think it's that big of a deal,
I haven't worked too much with him on it :\
He has dabbled in piano lessons, but I'm currently on the hunt for a new
piano teacher. So we will probably start that up again, soon.

Paige has been a active little bee. She had her first soccer session this past fall.
She did great at practices, but was not as interested in the games. It took some
convincing to get her out on the field, and once she got out there, so did so
good!!! So I think like Dmitri, we'll just keep singing her up xP
She also started her second year of gymnastics, and has started ballet/dance.
She loves dance! But, she's not the most graceful... I never did dance, but
maybe grace is something that needs to be learned over time. So we'll see
how she progresses. Right now she just loves running around to the music.
Gymnastics though, she does great! She seems to have a strong little body,
and does great on the bar, so I hope it's something she wants to stick with.
In less than a month she will graduate from Nursery, and become a Sunbeam.
I will probably shed a tear seeing her sit in Junior Primary, too! xP
We didn't put her in pre-school this year. I think she would have been ready,
but I opted to just have her do ballet, and gymnastics instead. So maybe
pre-school next year.

Lydia will be 15 months old this month. She walks, runs, dances, climbs on
everything, gets her own food, and has started to say a lot of new words.
She is just to insistent on keeping up with Paige and Dmitri. She's also a
tough little cookie! With all her keeping up with her brother and sister, and
her climbing, she has had quite the falls! Girl is going to give me a heart
attack!! But thankfully she has been resilient, and just keeps on trying......

I have been busy this holiday season, taking pictures. That has been fun,
and I always like editing them! Also one of my favorite things about the
holidays is, getting Christmas cards in the mail, with pictures that I took
on them! I just want to keep them all! :)

So that's some of our going ons. My laptop has been out of commission
for a couple years now, and our PC is just not reliable. So
Daniel went out one day, and came home with a new Macbook Pro for me! It's
been pretty awesome! So I don't have an excuse not to blog anymore. Even
if I'm super busy, there's always time to blog something!

Okay, I seriously take like 10 pictures a day.... so here are just a handful
from the last little bit!

First picture // After Dmitri's last soccer game of the fall season, we were
packing to go home. Daniel was loading the trunk, and Dmitri thought it'd
be a good idea to jump over the back seats, and into his seat (even though
Daniel told him not too.....). He ended up ramming his face into the seat in
front of his, and knocked one of his permanent teeth loose. I may have panicked
a bit... We had an oral surgeon friend look at it, and he said it looked fine, and
since Dmitri was so young, it should heal itself, and tighten up again. Thankfully
it has, and he hasn't had any issues with it.

Paige receiving her soccer medal! Her brother was a bit jealous, because his
coach hadn't picked up his teams trophies, so Dmitri kept trying to take her
into giving her medal to him.

Dmitri's team, playing soccer. He has been neon orange for soccer, and football.
That has come in handy though... because I've misplaced his football jersey twice,
so he's worn his soccer jersey to football. No one has noticed.

It wouldn't be Halloween at our house, without last minute costume change!
Paige had been insistent on being Ariel, in Ariel's pink dress, months before
Halloween.
So we went to the fabric store, bought the supplies, and I slaved away at that
bad boy, err girl. I was happy with the results, and she did wear it twice (a Halloween
party, and the ward Trunk or Treat), but the actual night of Halloween, she
decided to go as Doc McStuffins... at least we already had the costume :\
Dmitri switched between a zombie, werewolf, and Foxy from Five Nights at Freddy's.
At least they were mostly the same outfits.

As soon as she woke up today, Paige has insisted that she's going to school. She packed her backpack, asked me to make her a lunch, and has had her eye out for the bus. At first, I thought she was just playing, so I played along. Then when we went to get in the car, to take Dmitri to school, she flipped out! She was yelling that the bus was coming for her, and she had to be home to wait for it. I told her sorry, and that the bus wasn't coming, because she's 3, and I didn't sign her up for school. Finally got her in the car, to get Dmitri to school, and once we dropped him off, she was back to insisting it was her turn. She's also insisting that she's 5, and not 3. Maybe I should have signed her up for preschool this year (copy and pasted from FB)

Miss Poopy Pants! She woke up from her nap, covered in poop.... So
that was fun...

Our 'graceful' ballerina! ;)

The girls and I had lunch with Dmitri at school. Then we hit
up the book fair. This reminds me that I need to go have lunch again
with him, because he kind of loved it! And it was crazy hair day at school.

Brave face, after his first blood draw! He had a physical, and they sent in
for labs, since they didn't have any on file for him. It was unexpected, and he
freaked out a bit. Poor guy kept saying, "I didn't want to do this." to the
phlebotomist.

And this one, just because she's cute!

More ballet from Paige!

Last one, Paige at gymnastics. They've been focusing on the bars more
this year. So this was the first time she had been on the uneven bars.

Okay, that is all for now! I need to sync my phone, and get some more pictures
on here, which should make blogposts more frequent, hopefully!!
