About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

Just a little bit...

I just wanted to get a quick post out.

We should have a week and a half left, in the hotel!
I think we're at the end of our rope... Blah! I don't know
how we survived this long, without one of us hurting
the other. LOL there were a few tense moments...

Our condo in Hawaii has been RENTED!! They posted it,
and it was rented in a day and a half! Of course, when I
heard that, my first thought {after being excited} was,
"Crap... we should have asked more a month for it..." But
really, such a blessing! I am beyond grateful!

Daniel and I have both received callings. I was called as
the Enrichment Leader, and Daniel was called as the
Scout Master.
I've only ever gone to Enrichment... so actually being the
one in charge of it, a little bit scary! But we had our first
meeting, on Wednesday, and planning went well! I think
we've been given a great committee!
Daniel's calling... he was not too thrilled, because it's A LOT
of work! He met with some of the other leaders, and felt
better about it, then went to a Tuesday night meeting, and
his reservations might be back... The boys are just not on
board. They'd rather talk and chat and mess around, then
get serious about scouts. But... they are teenage boys.
So we'll see how things go!

Dmitri stayed in his class, by himself, last Sunday. I had
to sit with him during opening exercises though. The funny
thing is, he is so gung ho, to participate!
They played a Battleship type game, during singing time,
and he could not wait for his turn! He also loves helping
lead the music, and he went up in front of everyone, smile
on his face, and did it. So why he insists I be there, I'm not
sure... but he flips if I leave, or say I'm leaving. Blah. But
we'll get there. He's had more opportunities to hang out with
the kids in his class, outside of church, so I think that's
helped too.
But once the kids headed to class, Dmitri's teacher asked him
to hold the visual aids, for the lesson. Of course, he obliged.
He then turns to his class, and says, "Come on guys! Follow me!"
I took that as my cue to leave, but when he saw me leaving, he
flipped out! I told him he had to stay, and help with the pictures.
He looks down at the pictures he was holding, and drops them
on the floor, and turns to come with me! I couldn't help but
laugh... he is not easily swayed!
But one of his teachers grabbed him, and I shut the door behind
me. He survived. His teachers said he did great, and was such a
helper! He even got to make a snow globe, which he thinks is pretty
fantastic. We also took it on our walk, Sunday afternoon :}

So Sunday afternoon, we went and walked some trails nearby.
There was a nice lake, and a lot of sticks for Dmitri.

These other pictures, are from a walk we took, about two weeks back. The trail was a lot
shorter than we had thought... so Dmitri spent the whole time, looking for sticks. He wanted
to take them all home, and even load up mine and Daniel's arms with them...
We ended up at a park, and had it all to ourselves, for most the time.

And some random pics...
1. Umm... me.
2. A sleepy head!
3. Risky Business! You can't see his socks and unders, but
he looked like he could go sliding across the floor, playing
air guitar, at any moment...
4. Enjoying some after church lounging
5. We've had some nice warm days here! Also, one crazy
stormy day! We had a tornado warning, and the wind was
so crazy, it was swirling the rain around, and we couldn't see
out the window! The rain was also hitting the window SO hard.
I made Dmitri stand in the bathroom with me.... :}

And even more random pics...
1. Dmitri browsing toys, he doesn't have, online...
2. Playing at the park, in a pretty cool swing!
3 & 4. Dmitri was burying himself in pillows... and sat with this
blanket on his head, for about 5 minutes.
5. Daniel rolled his ankle, so we iced it... and Dmitri didn't want
to be left out!

I need to take a current preggo pic. I've gotten to the uncomfortable stage.
Not all the time, but a lot of the time. Blah!
But baby is doing good! I lost almost a pound, from my previous appointment,
and have gained about 8 pounds so far. If I can make it out of this pregnancy,
with 8-10 lbs as my total weight gain, I will be one happy camper! And oddly
enough, I'm measuring about a week bigger.
This little girl is SO active! She has one position she LOVES to lay in! It's almost
like she's laying diagonal... and pushing onto my hip bone. It feels like a horrible
tickle, and makes me cringe! Lol I have no idea what she's doing in there, but
she loves to swim and stretch, that is for sure!

So that's about it! I went to a girls night out, last week, and we've had some
play dates, and gone to some friends houses for dinner. So we're staying busy!

Hopefully my next post, we'll be moved into our house!! I have an OB appt on Tuesday,
and have some questions to ask... especially about delivery stuff.
Also, Daniel's boss approached him, about applying for a new spot. Still in the OR,
but he'd be on a team, mainly working on one thing. It's an awesome opportunity,
but he's not quite sure he wants to apply. So we'll see!

And that's all for now! And.... done.

  1. I was the Enrichment leader for a couple of years, it's pretty fun. I bet you'll do great at it! How did you get away with not gaining any weight? I have gained like 30 something pounds....

    1. Lol well I'm sure I started out, a lot heavier than you! My first doctor advised me to only gain 10-15lbs total, so I've tried to be conscience of that. But I think the other part, is being stuck in a hotel all day - because of one car - and being slave to only the food we have here. Blah!
