About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

Jumpin' around!

This past week and a half, has been REALLY fun for Dmitri!
LinkLink
Well, Friday Dmitri was supposed to start his first tumbling
class. I ended up having an appointment at that time, so I
had to move his start class to Tuesday.
My awesome friend Genevieve, called Friday morning, inviting
Dmitri and me toLink see Sesame Street Live! Unfortunately I
couldn't, because of my appointment, but she asked if I wanted
her to at least take Dmitri - so sweet and awesome!
I was a little worried about how he'd behave, since he's never
been out with anyone, without Daniel or I - but she said he did great!

When he got home, he told us all about it! He kept saying, "I
saw Elmo on stage!" And then tell us all the other characters
that he saw on stage. He loved it!
I was even talking to my mom Saturday, and had the phone on
speaker. Dmitri runs in and yells in the phone, "Grandma, I see
Elmo on stage!" Again, he LOVED it! Thanks Genevieve, Parker
and Penelope!!
Here are a few pics {hope you don't mind if I post these Genevieve}

He loved his sticker book!

This picture of Dmitri, creeping in the corner, makes me laugh! He really likes Penelope. He
calls her, my Elope.

So after he got home, Dmitri, Daniel and I, went to run some errands, and grab lunch.
Captain America came out Friday, so we were thinking of going to it. Too bad Dmitri
developed some crazy energy spurt at lunch! So I told Daniel to just go, and Dmitri and
I headed to Target, then home. PS... Daniel really liked the movie :]

Some Target time... I bought him one of these masks {and shield} for his birthday, but
he doesn't know it yet! I'm glad I did though... because they're now sold out!

We came home {from picking Daniel up at the movies} and Daniel's motorcycle
cover had blown off. So Dmitri took advantage, while he could!

I don't think much happened during our weekend. At least not that I can remember... We
did go shopping for Daniel, and he was quite in decisive... so we were there for a long time... :}

So since Dmitri couldn't go to his class on Friday, he was able to start on Tuesday. He was
SO excited! We had to take Daniel to work, so we could have the car... but it worked out
fine. Dmitri fell asleep on the way over, but as soon as I woke him up, he jumped out of the
car, and was ready to go!
Here he is, waiting for his teachers and class to come.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/2011-7-27.jpg?t=1311935933
He did pretty good. There's one other boy in his class, but the boy is older, and they're split
into 3-4 and 4-5. So the other boys in the older group. I think Dmitri's the youngest in his
class - and definitely the newbie!
He did fine with all the circuits, but wasn't the best at waiting his turn, or getting distracted
by all the other things around him. Luckily his teacher were good at making him stay focused.
One the first circuit, they had to walk on balance beams, backwards and sideways, then jump
on frogs, and roll, and they did it 3 times. Next circuit they did a hand stand, 3 donkey jumps,
{holding onto the big mat, and lifting their backside}, then do a backwards roll, jump on the
spring board and lastly put a frog toy between their knees and do a somersault. They did
this 3 times too. Dmitri LOVED this one! He does somersaults and flips off the sofa all the time! So he got ahead of himself, and when he was supposed to jump, he'd tuck his head, and do flips off the round mat. It was kind of funny... :} As seen in the first picture.... Needless to say, he loved 'nastics class!

Tuesday night, Daniel had basketball, and I had a baptism to go to. He offered to take
Dmitri, but I said I'd take him, because it'd be good for him!
He was actually really excited to go, though he did fall asleep on the way there. When
I woke him up, we went into the chapel, and sat down. He was still sleepy, so he sat there
nicely. Unfortunately that didn't last too long... especially when he saw other kids running
around the benches. I figured it'd be like the other baptism, and they'd baptize the first
girl, then confirm her, and then have a couple talks, and we'd leave. Well they changed it
up, and they did talks, baptism, talks, talks, talks, with some songs in between, and then
the confirmation. Me and Dmitri got pretty restless!! So I took him out, until it was over.
It was really nice though, and I'm so proud of Choisys! She is such a sweetheart, and so
fun in class!
When we were watching her get baptized, we went back into the room, with the baptismal
font. There was a mosaic like picture of Jesus getting baptized, and then one of the Elders,
doing the baptism, already in the water. Dmitri points to the picture, and asks, "That Jesus?"
I said yes, and he asked about it again, but I think he was referring to the Elder, because when
I said, "Yes, that's Jesus." He thought the Elder was Jesus... and kept calling him that :}
After the baptism, we went to pick up Daniel, from basketball. They were still playing, so we
sat on the stage, and watched. Dmitri also had fun, playing with some of the other kids that
were there.

Wednesday and Thursday, Daniel was off. We decided to go check out Kaneohe. But I
just wanted to go to a certain part, the marina part. So we drove over, and ended up
at the Marine base. So we decided to stop at the beach, and play around a bit. There was
a lot of trash! It wasn't trash people had left there, it was trash that had been washed
up. Still pretty gross!
Both contemplating.... :}

He was trying to pick this log up... then just decided to fill one end with sand...
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/2011-7-272.jpg?t=1311936054
Dmitri found some sticks, and was doing some tribal dances with them...
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/2011-7-273.jpg?t=1311936074
It was kind of funny, you can see the guy with the gun, in this picture. I guess that's what
you get, when you go to the beach on base... And Dmitri thought he'd drive us home...
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/2011-7-274.jpg?t=1311936103
After beach time, we decided to check out the Windward mall. I had heard that it's awesome,
and they have a great play area for kids. I was looking all over, and all I kept seeing was this
small pirate ship, and hill. So I guess that was it! Dmitri had fun, and found some kids to run
around with. So he enjoyed it!
I enjoyed that they had a pet store!! I LOVE pet stores! I remember the mall I grew up by,
they used to have a pet store, and their puppies were always in the front, and SO cute! This
one also had some dang cute puppies in the front! They're terrier chihuahua mix... and $900.
Yikes! There was also a black cat, for $100.... I don't know why anyone would pay that...
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/2011-7-275.jpg?t=1311936131
The mall had a movie theater, so we decided to go see a movie. Since Dmitri's not very good
at the movies... we asked what he wanted to see; Cars 2, or Winnie the Pooh. He picked
Winnie the Pooh... and it was brutal. I thought Daniel was going to poke his eyes out. He
should have taken me up on my offer, to split up :}
Dmitri was into the movie, for the first half hour. After that, we spent the rest of the time,
trying to get him to sit down... and stay by us...

Once we headed home, we heard on the radio, that traffic was totally backed up. So we took
the scenic route, and drove past the Temple, and through the north shore.
We stopped at one of the beaches, to watch the sunset, and Dmitri and Daniel picked up shells.
Dmitri had to be woken up, once we got to the beach. We didn't realize, until we were a ways
from the car, that he didn't have his "flasses" {glasses}. So that's what he's crying about, in
the middle pic....
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/2011-7-276.jpg?t=1311936156
He loves himself some sand!!
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/2011-7-277.jpg?t=1311936180
And random picks... he started watching Dora, and swiped my glasses... Sneaky Swiper!
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/2011-7-278.jpg?t=1311936210
We also saw a girl, horseback riding! How romantic would that be?! Horseback riding, on
the beach, at sunset :)
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/2011-7-279.jpg?t=1311936231
Thursday we went to playgroup. It was really fun, but really hot!! The grass was really wet,
and splashed into my shoes, so I took them off to dry. I wasn't thinking they'd be hot, but
when I slipped them back on, HOLY COW! Burned my feet!
The kids found a fun metal chain to play with... and Dmitri and Mikey chanting, "Wing Wing
Tuck!" {Ming Ming, Tuck, from Wonder Pets :}
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/2011-7-28.jpg?t=1311935969
So today {Friday}, Daniel was home, and got to come to 'nastics! Dmitri was so excited! He
kept asking, "Daddy come 'nastics?! Daddy watch me at 'nastics?!"
{walking backwards on the balance beam, and then sideways}

So today was only his second time, and seriously, HUGE improvement from Tuesday! He
listened much better, and only had to be told to sit down, a handful of times. He also did
awesome at remembering each rotation, and had so much fun! He seriously loves it!
There were some different kids today, and a lot more boys! It was more even, boys and girls, then him being outnumbered! :]
He also got more stamps - which was good, since he wasn't happy his last ones washed off...
On Weds morning, he said, "Oh no! My dinosaur gone!" Then looks at his other hand, "Oh no! My tiger gone too!" I told him they washed off in the bathtub last night. So he goes to the kitchen sink, and says, "I wash them back on!" And of course he said it with total attitude and deter-
mination! :}
This afternoon, Dmitri and I went to put him on the waiting list for pre-school. We missed
registration, and I wanted to still try and get him in, since so many of his friends will be going
there! So he's on the waiting list, which isn't too long. Fingers crossed!!
He was playing, with another boy that was there, while I was signing him up. When we went
to leave, he starts crying, and says he doesn't want to leave! So I really hope he can get in!

So that was our week... and it took me all day to get this post posted!! Alright... random pics!

I was cleaning his carpet... and needed more pressure {to get out a red Crystal Light, powder
stain}, so I made Dmitri stand on it. Worked like a charm!
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/aaa.jpg
Driving.....
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/aaaa.jpg
And hiding.... he's so sneaky :}
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/aaaaa.jpg
I bought a baptism gift, for Choisys - and also ordered a ring for Dmitri. Cute fingers!
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/surban77/new/aaaaaa.jpg?t=1312052931
And that's that... until next week! :]

I forgot these last few pics...
Dmitri is very much into dressing himself, and being dressed at ALL times!
It has been a struggle to get him into pjs, because he wants to wear day
clothes. When I do get him into pjs, the minute he gets up in the morning,
he's digging through his drawers for clothes.
I wont let him wear play clothes to bed... and we have to compromise
sometimes... regular shirt and pajama bottoms, or pajama shirt and knit
bottoms.
Well, he thinks he's cleaver. He went to bed in pajamas, and after I left,
he changed his clothes! This is what I found, when I went to check on
him one night. Definitely not the pajamas he went to bed in...
