About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

Oh yea...

I have a blog ;)

It has been awhile since my last post... and the reason
why?? We got Netflix for Christmas, and ordered LOST
through the instant queue. We just started season 4.
Neither one of us watched it when it was on, and we've
heard good and bad about it, so we thought we'd indulge.
Sigh... it sure does take up a lot of time!

Dmitri has been sleeping weird, waking up at 4am and
ready to start his day. Doesn't far well when I get to bed
a little late... so I've been zombieish in the morning. I
really think I got more sleep when he was a newborn,
than I do now that he's 2!! Ugh.

I have also done a few crafts. I made Daniel a quilt for his
birthday... more on that further down the post.
I painted the kitchen green, on New Year's Eve. And finally
finished painting the trim in the living room! Seriously, I
think we've had an inch of white for about 6 months...

I got a Silhouette SD for Christmas, so I've been having
a lot of fun with that!! I've put up some vinyl stuff, and
have made some cute handouts for my church class.

Since it's a new year at church, my old class moved up,
and I got a new set of 7/8 year olds. This class is much
smaller than my last. The first Sunday I had 3 kids, and
this past Sunday, I had 2.
It was two girls last Sunday, so we made CTR crowns.
They loved them! So that was exciting :)
I'm really going to like this class... right when I walked
in, one of the girls told me I was pretty, and have bangs
like Party Barbie... so yes, I think this is going to be a
good year ;)

Dmitri's still in Nursery, though it'll be his last year, then
he's off to Sunbeams. Sad!!
Daniel's teaching Priesthood every second Sunday. He
taught this past Sunday, and it went really well.

So otherwise, things have been pretty normal around
here. Even though I haven't blogged, I still have quite
a bit of pics to share.... so here they are

'Making' eggies. That's a play egg next to him.
A scratch under his eye... totally my fault :(Dmitri has been into pointing out member's of the
family.
So here is our family, as trains... I'm the pink on,
Daniel's red, and Dmitri is blue. He brought them
to me after Christmas, and told me who was who.
So now if we read books, or look at pictures, he'll
point out who's the daddy, mommy and the "Dimey"
He calls himself Dima {Deema} or Dimey {Deeme}
And Dima is short for Dmitri in Russia. LOL it's just
not a weird random name we started calling him :}

I ended up making him a makeshift kitchen. He had
fun playing with it, and making food for the trains.
He even helped me color the burners.
I mentioned a couple times about how crazy HI gets
on New Years Eve.
The fireworks freaked Dmitri out at first, but he got
used to them. I told him to look out the window and
tell me what color fireworks he saw.
He stayed up until 10:30 - so he didn't make it to New
Years, but he made a good effort :)I bought this hand juicer a week or so ago. Dmitri
was busying himself in the kitchen, so I went to see
what he was doing. He had taken an orange out of
the fridge, and the juicer off the counter, and was
making himself juice.
I had squeezed lemons when I was staying at my
parents house, otherwise I don't know where he
learned to do it. Daniel and I were both kind of
amazed.... Enjoying his reward of his hard labor ;)If that wasn't a reason why the fridge needs a
lock {along with his jar stacking...} there's thisThe sticky part of the lock war off, but has since
been fixed! {Notice my green kitchen in the
background - I love it!}One of his early mornings. He did end up falling
back to sleep for a few hoursThis past weekend, we celebrated Daniel's 30th
birthday. I got him to last 3 books in his comic
series I bought him for Christmas, along with a
blu-ray and a quilt.

While I was making Dmitri's Christmas quilt,
Daniel mentioned that I never made a quilt for
him. I told him that I crocheted him the world's
biggest blanket a few Christmas' back... but I
guess that's not a quilt. So, of course I had to make
him one, and was totally excited to shop for fabric!

It was hard finding enough manly and/or neutral
fabric. I also had to keep reminding myself that
the quilt wasn't for me... :}
The fabrics are more neutral - and I'm very happy
with how it turned out! I FINALLY figured out how
to correctly but the rows together, so my corners
line up perfectly! I am tooting my own horn, because
I can't even tell you how many times I've taken past
quilts apart, just to get the corners lined up! Blah!

The only time I could work on it, Daniel was home.
So I figured if I didn't say anything about what I was
doing, he wouldn't ask. Haha and it worked. He didn't
know I was making it for him! Unless he was lying to
me... Hmm....Dmitri was eager to help Daniel open his presents.
He was sorely disappointed, when he realized it was
nothing he liked... sorry Dimey...I had to block him from touching the cake a few
times.... Eww...Dmitri yelling at the candles, after Daniel blew
them out... :}
Lol... he's a little weird sometimes...But I seriously love this quilt. Love it. I think I'm
going to tackle a quilt for out bed now!! :D
I tried taking a pic of it... and this was what happened.
Dmitri likes it too ;)
Here are some things I have done with my
SilhouetteSome birds for Dmitri's room! Ignore the bright
blue paint at right... still waiting to be covered...
{I have a few other projects {new art} for Dmitri's
room. Hopefully soon! He needs a new dresser, and
we're trying to think of more efficient ways to keep
his room clean - because apparently getting rid of
half his toys didn't work....}
Some handouts for my classThis is a bookmark, for next SundayStacking blocks at the scrapbook store I
recently found... and LOVE!Annnddd.... done.PS.... Dmitri has been into swords, and swatting
at people while saying "Ha, ya. Ha!" I don't know
where he learned it... and I don't like it! Especially
being swatted on the leg or butt with spatulas and
faux swords. Blah.
