About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

Things that rock...

having a baby in nursery!
Glorious glorious nursery!
Oh how I love you.

Today was our second week of 1 o'clock church.
I'm still not a fan. After 26 years - whenever
the 1 o'clock year rolls around - ugh!

I know suck it up.
Anyways - we all slept in until 9 this morning,
which was nice! And a nice rainy day made it
better! :)

Daniel taught the Missionary class today, and
that meant I had Dmitri. Well I decided to see
if they'd let me put him in nursery, since he is
two weeks away from going in anyway.
I handed him off to the nursery teachers, and
they said they'll see how he does.
I was only a door away - so that helped too.

He started fussing when I handed him off, so
I hurried a left to go to Primary.
My class this year is BIG! I have 9 regular kids.
8 boys and 1 girl!
Luckily they had a good teacher last year - so
they listen fairly well. They listen the first time
I tell them to be quiet :)

So Daniel went to go sit with Dmitri after his
class, and he opened the Nursery door - but the
teachers told him to go ahead and leave him there.
He was sitting listening to the lesson, and being
very good. So he left him and went to Priesthood.

Daniel was out before I was, so he went to pick
up Dmitri. Dmitri did great the entire time! He
didn't cry, he listened and played and was great!
It was a success! And they said we can bring him
next week and we don't need to stay with him
So I hope next week goes well! Daniel will be
working, so it'll just be me. Lol so I hope he
does well :]

So that was our Sunday.

Yesterday my lovey turned the big 29! Ahh!
I might have to purchase some 'Over the Hill'
gear next year :}
He was off yesterday, so that of course helped
to start his birthday off right.
We had a chill morning. I sent Daniel out to see
Avatar. While he was out, I had to finish his cake,
get decorations and get dinner.
I got a giant cupcake cake pan from my bro in
law for Christmas. So I went with a half and
half cake. The top part of the cupcake was
white cake with white icing. The bottom was
chocolate cake with chocolate icing. The middle
was vanilla pudding {Daniel's fave cake filling is
pudding}. I was going to do chocolate pudding,
but the store was sold out! Which is still odd to
me...
My house was a million degrees.... so the icing
and pudding was melting off it. Here's the best
side. Lol the back looked like a landslide :}I got him his favorite dinner - Little Caesar's
Pizza. Little did I know he treated himself to
some birthday Taco Bell before the movie.... mmhmm

So it was a good day! He spent to rest of his day
playing Call of Duty 5. His friends were having
a LAN party that day, so he joined in. So I think
he had a good day.
We still need to go get his bday gift. He keeps
going back and forth on it. Oy.

I've done a few more projects... here they are.
This one is above our bed. I picked up the boards
at home Depot {.51 a piece} and some more words
from the craft store.I want to repaint Dmitri's room {and ours} into
something more soothing. So these 12x12 sqaure
plaques were on sale for $2.35 - so I decided to
snag them and use them as my start off point. They
replaced the fish paintings I had done.
I kept them simple and clean - and he can't reach
them - unlike the fish pics.Umm... say hello to my little rock climber. He's
gotten further then this since this pic. I've had
to put our barstools in our room because he was
climbing on them and onto the bar. Ugh! Our
bedroom is going to be full of chairs - and our
living room will be bare!Dmitri likes to rearrange things in the fridge.
Mainly condiments. And sometimes I just leave
the door open while I cook and let him rearrange
to his hearts content. Hot sauce next to the yogurt box, and a
little Parmesan cheese with the left overs...
A little Grey Poupon hanging outYellow mustard in the fruit drawerWatching tv in a box....I retouched my roots on Friday... and Dmitri
thought my foil hat was awesome.
So he got in on the action too.... :}Other things he insists on sorting... his
vitamins, fluoride, and Tylenol. I think he likes
that they all look the same. So I'm semi working on recovering and
refinishing thisI can't figure out how to get the legs off. They
wont untwist - and I've yet to find the screws
that may be holding them on. Plus the top is
pretty dirty... so I'm debating just covering it,
or totally taking off the old fabric and padding
and trying to replace it. But I'm afraid I'll find
something ick when I tear it apart. It might be
a lost case. And Daniel isn't on board.... so I'm
still up in the air with it!

Lastly... I think I want to take up hand embroidery...
This site has inspired me!
{I love this site by the way...}

  1. I need to learn to do my own hair. The day may come soon when I move away and don't trust anyone else to do it for me! :/

P.S. Love D's foil hat. Reminds me of the little kids in the Mel Gibson alien movie "Signs". Bhaa!

  2. That is such a perfect shaped ottoman. The legs must screw in somewhere...keep looking. And usually the padding is fine even if the fabric is gross so don't be too afraid of what you'll find. Good luck!!!!

  3. Wow! Dmitri is WAY more adventourous then Andrew. We never had climbing issues with him. Of course absolutely LOVELY crafting!!

  4. Ok, I've never been a big fan of 1pm. church either. And this time around it is right during Isaac's naptime. Thankfully, I got him to sleep during Sacrament, before he caused too much ruckus.

I love all the cute plaques you're making. I finished my first one the other day and I'm pretty satisfied with it considering it is my first...I think we need to have some craft days. We can let the boys play and we'll do some crafts. How does that sound to you?
