I think I have enough left in me to blog.
But the dishes will have to suffer - until
tomorrow.
:}
Daniel has been working in the OR all week.
It's nice because he works M-F but is off by
3. And sometimes before that.
It's a bit odd to me - he'll watch a whole
operation where he's staring at some guys
brain - or insides - and then go eat lunch.
I have too much of a weak stomach in my
old age.
Monday we had dinner with a couple friends.
It was really nice - and I didn't have to worry
too much about Dmitri because they have a
toddler too. They also have 4 older girls, so
they enjoyed playing with Dmitri. Until he
stood in front of the tv :}
Tuesday Dmitri and I did some errands, then
watched a girl from our ward. Dmitri has
been getting worse in the sharing department.
So we're working on that. She was coloring
when Dmitri woke up from his nap - so he
wasn't interested in his lunch. I told him he
had to eat something before he colored, but
he was still reaching for crayons and paper.
She {she's 3} kept saying "No Mitri - your
mommy said you eat and then you color."
"No Mitri - eat!" It was so cute. But Dmitri
didn't know what to think. He just looked at
her with a blank stare :}
Wednesday I watched Dmitri friend Kaden.
He just got a baby brother, so he got to hang
out with us while they came home from the
hospital and got settled.
The first few hours were spent fighting over
toys. Dmitri wanted all of Kaden's toys. So he'd
either grab one out of his hands really fast, or
wait for Kaden to put one down - and then
run into the kitchen - with Kaden chasing him,
and Dmitri would chuck the toy behind the fridge!
I have NO idea where he learned that that was
even an option. But like I said, we're working
on sharing!
That evening we went to dinner with Nate, Chelsea
and Ava. We went to this cute place in the mall
that is like a carnival/ice cream parlor. It's like
something you'd see in Disneyland. The food was
really good, but the environment had WAY too
much going on for Dmitri! Especially since stuffed
animals and candy was eye level for him.
So it took a bit to settle him down - and we had
to take a few trips outside....
Today Dmitri and I spent the morning/afternoon
finishing up some stocking stuffer shopping.
And then we had lunch. Dmitri learned that if
he throws his food - the birds will come to him.....
So he was loving that. Can't say the same thing
for the people eating around us....
Dmitri got a chocolate sample while we were out
today. I thought he'd eat it really fast and it
wouldn't be a problem. But he didn't - he held it
and sucked on it. And ended up like this. His hands
were completely covered in chocolate! But he
enjoyed it. {he had a lot more in his hair!}
Tonight Daniel and I had a mini Christmas
movie marathon. We watched Garfield's Christmas
and a Very Brady Christmas. Daniel's not a big
Brady's Christmas fan. This is him about 30
mins into it.
But I whipped up some popcorn covered in
marshmallow for us to pig out on. So that was
lovely :}
Nate and Chelsea also came over to visit! They
were finishing up some stuff at their place
before they make the big move tomorrow. So
it was nice to have them over again :[
Dmitri has started something else. He gets really
really upset when he accidentally hurts someone.
He knocked Ava over tonight - but she didn't
really notice. We told him to be careful and he
ran to Daniel with his bottom lip hanging out!
Lol poor guy! But he will just break out in tears
if he makes someone fall - or whatever. I don't
know if he thinks he's in trouble - or if he gets
embarrassed. But he gets really upset.
Anyways - that's that. We got a Christmas
present in the mail - and was thinking about
opening them. But Dmitri put a stop to that.
He hid them. The lid was on the ottoman, but
they were still sticking out.
Have I mentioned he hides stuff like crazy
these days? Yea - no cute when it's a sippy
full of milk. I have lucked out a few times and
the sippy was water and not milk. Whew!
And Dmitri tried eggnog for the first time
tonight. He's a fan. Just like Daniel! Not me,
it's oddly thick. Blah!
Aight - goodnight!!

Dmitri is busy busy lately, huh? That is too funny. Hiding stuff is the worst. Noah used to hide my keys and his shoes. It wasn't much fun.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Ewww! I used to get irritated when Lola would hide her food. Now I'm thankful for dry, hard dog food and not milk! HAHA! Dmitri is so effin cute! I love his chocolate face!
ReplyDeleteAh, the hiding phase. Andrew still does it. Parts of the nativity, my KEYS, my wedding and engagement rings (only 2 times though). I don't know how many times I've stumbled on a cup or bottle with stinking mold in it, because its been gone for weeks.
