About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

Private

So I'm setting our blog to private.
Just for peace of mind - and so I
don't have to take all these safety
precautions I've been taking.

{And so my mom can copy my pics
off my blog - so I don't have to email
them all to her :}

Anyways - leave your email in a comment
below!
I set it so my comments have to be
approved - so no one will be able to see
your email address but me!

But leave your email! I know we have
a few friends of friends, and siblings of friends,
that check out our blog - so feel free to leave your
email too. And friends off Facebook - leave
your email as well!
And if there are any non-creepy people
that like to look at our blog - you can leave yours too.
But I'll be checking you out first! X}

Listen to me - acting like I'm popular!
Anywhos - that's that. I'm going to set
it to private this weekend.

So nothing much here. Decorating for
Christmas and making Santa lists.

Yesterday Dmitri and I went to the
park with our friends Chelsea and Ava.
So that was nice! Minus the occasional
rock in mouth - and bullies and falls.

But we live to tell the tale! :]

Daniel got off at noon - so that was a
nice surprise! And there's a chance he's
off tomorrow! Woohoo!

We plan on taking our Christmas card
pics tomorrow.
I have plans for my Christmas cards,
thanks to my dear friend Martha Stewart ;)

I have way too many Christmas crafts
swirling through my head right now!
I need to stop looking at craft blogs.
I'm working on two at the moment - and
rather unsuccessfully.
My spray paint is taking FOREVER to
dry!!

But I went to home Depot tonight to
get some supplies for my projects.
I've been too intimidated to ask about
getting wood cut there.... so after a
conversation with my dad {who knows
all there is to know in the world of Home
Depot {{and Lowe's}} I had the confidence
to do so! I got some 4"x4" blocks cut and
picked up a few scrape pieces of wood
for some more plaques. Each piece of
wood including my blocks were .51!!
Needless to say I'll be visiting Home Depot
more frequently :}

After that I went to Target for some more
replacement Christmas light bulbs.
We've had our pre-lit tree for 4 years now,
and when we set it up this year, we had
some dead spots {well whole rows}. So I
bought a pack of 10 replacement bulbs
today, and used them all!!
And I STILL have an area that doesn't
lite! So I bought another pack tonight to
try and get it glowing.
So at least it's just one tiny patch left.

Dmitri has lost some of his infatuation
with the ornaments. So that's good. Our
ornaments might survive the holidays!
And I must say - thank goodness for plastic
bulbs that look real - and look pretty!

Tonight after my second trip to Target,
I was heading to my car and spotted a
kitten in the parking lot! He was so cute!
Little and orange and adorable. I tried to
get him to come to me - but he wouldn't.
I don't know what I would have done with
him if he did come :\ That would have been
an awkward drive home. That and what
do I need with a cat?
Meh.

But he was dang cute....

So in the world of Dmitri - he has started
taking his shirt off. Well - half his shirt.
He walks around with one arm hanging
out. It's cute - and a lot less annoying then
him taking off his shorts/pj bottoms and then
diaper.

He's starting to talk a lot more. His words
aren't really clear to anyone else - but he
has started saying "get it" really well!
He'll be kicking his ball around and just
says "get it, get it" to himself :}
He also says "give it" when he wants something.
So we need to start teaching manners!
Though he does say "thanks" sometimes.

I caught him playing with one of his cars
today. He was running it along the floor
making car noises - and then would lift
it in the air - still making noises - and
playing with it like it was a plane.
{he loves planes. The world stops when he hears one}
{{he has to find it in the sky}}
I could totally see the little boy coming out,
and the baby boy fading.
Ugh! Sad - but fun. But sad :[

And I'm happy to report... I've been
reading some blogs about other kids
{older and younger} being able to
fold their arms during prayer. Well it never dawned on
me to teach him that - until I read other
blogs.
How ridiculous is that on my part?
So we started teaching him to fold his
arms - and he's now got it down.
Though he will randomly fold his arms
for no reason and shoot a proud smile at
us. So that works too :]

But yea - it's been quiet on the home front.
Just the way we like it!It's 2am - goodnight!
