About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

Before I forget everything!

Happy {belated} Thanksgiving!!

We had a really {really} good Thanksgiving!

We stayed home - which we were kind of
bummed about at first - but luckily we've
been blessed with some awesome friends
to share Thanksgiving with!

Like I said before - I'm still pretty intimidated
about cooking the turkey! So Chelsea took it
on - and did AWESOME! It was SO SO good!

Everything turned out perfect! It was all pretty
much ready on time - so awesome time management
on our part ;)

While we cooked - the boys watched some football.
Daniel ended up working that day - which was
a bummer, because they got his hopes up that he'd
be called off completely. He did get home at noon,
so that was a nice surprise!

Well we cooked and cooked! I started the night
before making a small ham for Daniel's work party.
And then onto the sides for our dinner.
I think we went a little crazy with the sides - since
there was no room on our plates for the turkey!
We had; stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes,
green bean casserole, deviled eggs, creamed corn, and
rolls. Then we had pumpkin pie, pear pie and homemade
caramel for dessert!
And yes - I gained 2 pounds from Thanksgiving, plus
a pound eating left overs the next day :}
Happy to report that I've since lost them! And hopefully
wont find them again! X}

I didn't get any pre eating pics. So here are some
eaten ones....That night I decided to tag along with Chelsea for some black
Friday shopping! We hit up Wal-Mart - which was
INSANE! It was 12 at night - and we had to park
in a non Wal-Mart parking lot. People were there
waiting in line for items that didn't go on sale until
5AM! What do you do with yourself during that time?!
I felt bad for the kids that were dragged there. There
were 9 month olds and 3 year olds - all in pjs.

Well we left empty handed - then attempted the
outlets. They were supposed to open at 12AM - and
thought we'd have some luck there. Nope. They
had police directing traffic - and only letting people
enter from one direction!
All you could see in there were breaklights. It was
so crazy. So we headed home.

Friday we did a whole lot of nothing. Dmitri and I
hit up the beach for a half hour or so - then headed
to Target to see what they had going on.
{Dmitri glowing....}Saturday morning I went to an Enrichment activity
at church. We made ornaments. My first one didn't
turn out so good - but I liked the example one they
had. You glue two clear stones together with a star
in the middle - then wrap it in ribbon. It later disappeared,
so I think someone tossed it during cleanup :\ I did
like the second one I made. We just took clear ornaments
and filled them - then painted on them. I might buy
some and make a few more ornaments! Or glitter them.

Later that afternoon Daniel, Dmitri and I went to the
PX just to get out of the house. So nothing too exciting.

Today my class was in charge of sharing time. I found
out Saturday - so I was pretty stressed about it. I've
never been in charge of sharing time - so I really
didn't know what to do. Plus my class didn't know we
were doing it either - so I was a little worried how they'd
take the news - and if they were on board. I followed the
sharing time that was outlined on the church website,
so that helped - a lot! And my class was on board!
But they were a bit crazy today. Like really crazy and
bouncing off walls. Literally. I had no idea what was going on.
Luckily we pulled it together long enough for me to assign
parts and get organized.
And I guess it went well. We ended on time - and the other
classes participated and seemed to enjoy the game we
played.
I did find out this is the last year teachers need to
do sharing time. Next year it's all up to the Primary
presidency! I'm a little bit happy about that :}

So that was that. A nice Sunday. It's cooled off a lot
here. It was under 80's today and felt AMAZING! It's
not the cold winter weather I would prefer - but I will
take the cool down for sure!
I took a nice nap today - and it was great. Love a
Sunday nap! :}

OH! We decorated on Saturday! I realized all we really
have are ornaments - so I need to invest in some
decorations!
Here's what we have so far - but it's subject to change...
Dmitri helped decorate with a Cheerios coupon :}Dmitri's 1st ornamentHe likes sitting behind and under the tree....
I hope that'll change when I get a tree skirt for it.I glittered some branches. And Dmitri's room got some bling!
Maybe bling's not the word :}I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was great!
Full speed ahead to Christmas!!
But not too fast....... please.....

  2. I LOVE your glittered sticks!! Seriously you are FULL of these amazing ideas. So talented...
Your thanksgiving feast looks really good. I like deviled eggs, and no one ever makes them. Maybe I'll have to make some today.
Is your tree real or fake?
