About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

Jealous?

And this doesn't even include the
giant suitcase of clothes that have
yet to be put away....
{or unpacked for that matter}

How do 3 people accumulate so
much laundry? :/
{and dishes}

But it's okay - I have a weeks worth
of Martha Stewarts tivo'd to get me
through!

Today was spent out and about.
I went with my friend Chelsea to
check out some baby shower items
and ideas.
We're throwing a baby shower
for a friend {on Saturday} so we're
getting down to crunch time!

We started our excursion with a
trip to Wal-mart, then Honolulu Craft
{which is FABULOUS by the way!}
and lastly to Target. So I think we're
about ready. We just need food - so
a Costco run is in order.
After all the shower shopping, we
decided to hit up Aloha Salad - shsh,
don't tell Daniel! And then Menchies
shsh, don't tell Daniel! He's still in PT
Diet mode :\
I think a giant meal will be at the end
of the PT Diet rainbow. Or maybe out
to dinner. Hmm hmm.
But Menchies is fantastic! It's all about
frozen yogurt. You grab a cup - fill it up
with your preferred flavor{s} of frozen
yogurt - then toppings - and they weigh
and charge you by the ounce.
And their prices are reasonable. I seriously
could live off frozen yogurt. It might
actually do me some good. Since all current
diets have failed :}

Daniel was off today - and hung out with
Dmitri while I was out.
They seemed to have fun! And Dmitri
took a nice long nap for Daniel!
Can't beat that :]

Ah. So I made the mistake of putting
Dmitri to sleep with a bottle when he
was about 8 months.
Well I hadn't stopped. I tried a few times,
and he'd just cry. So I'd give in because
I didn't want complaints from
neighbors. A couple days ago I decided
I needed to put a stop to this.
I got him ready for bed Monday night,
and laid him down. He reaches for his
sippy cup - but no sippy. So he freaks
and cries - and I left. I felt so guilty!
But I knew he'd be okay. And he was.
It took almost a half hour - but he
was fine and fell asleep.

He woke up around 2 crying for a sippy,
and I gave in. Because of the neighbors.

I had originally planned to give him
a sippy during naps - but none at night.
So naps were fine.
Tuesday night I got him ready for
bed - laid him down - he cried for a
minute. A minute! And was asleep.
If that's not good enough - he slept the
entire night! And even took 2 naps
without a sippy!
I'm thrilled!

Tonight he cried for about 10 minutes,
but then fell asleep. And he took
his naps today with no sippy.
I'm so happy!
He'll {hopefully} have cavity free
teeth until his big one's come in.
And even after that I hope!

Later I will write about my 'craft room'
epiphany I had today!
It involves some organizing - and
possible run ins with geckos.
So I'll need Daniel's help for it.
But I have high hopes!

So that was our day!
Laundry got ignored.... so it's left for
tomorrow. I love tomorrow.
It's always a day away...
:}

  1. a craft room!! Oh my, have you seen the ones on doodlebug.com?? In the words of Rachel Zoe, I die.
    We have a guest room that i would LOVE to turn into a room where i could do all my crafty stuff. my mom said we should turn our closet into the craft room since it's big enough, but it has horrible lighting and 1 dumb weird fake frosted window.
    Good luck with the baby shower! i've never thrown one, ever. and at my rate concerning (well you know) i probably never will. not unless you want me to leave the room every 5 mintures to cry.
