So we're on vacation - woot woo!
We got up at 4:30AM on Monday, and
headed out to the airport.
Ugh - we woke up feeling SO icky!
Major stomach problems going on.
We got to the airport, and as we were
standing in line to check our bags, I was
sweating, feeling sick and seriously
could have passed out.
It didn't help that it was stinkin' hot
either!
Well luckily I held it together - and
the sweating came to a point and stopped.
So I'm thinking it was a fever that broke.
Weird.
So the rest of the morning I was gradually
feeling better.
We boarded our plane and off we went.
Dmitri started out pretty good. He sat with
Daniel and spent the first part of the
flight looking out the window.
Too bad that didn't last long....
He got so restless and just wanted to
walk around - but that wasn't going
to be possible.
We had a small plane and got stuck in
the back, so the stewardess' were
constantly walking up and down the aisle.
Plus the bathroom was hoppin'!
There were a few points on the plane
where I just had to take Dmitri into
the bathroom and let him play with the
water faucet. Ay yi yi!
And I'm pretty sure the guy sitting
next to me wanted to kill us after a while.
He kept trying to sleep - but we woke him
up to go in and out of our row.
When we bought our tickets - we selected
aisle seats - but no.
After constant changes made to our itinerary,
we ended up with a window and middle
seat.
Blah.
So we landed in LA and had an 1 1/2 to
2 hour layover.
So we ate - and waited at the oddest terminal
to board our plane to SLC.
Umm we had a bit of an accident while walking
onto the plane.
I was pushing to stroller and suddenly felt
this big lump and couldn't figure out what I
had just ran over.
So I look - and oh. It's DMitri!
I ran over Dmitri. I ran over my child!
Yikes.
I guess he squirmed out of his stroller and
fell right in front of it - then was pushed and
ran over. Awesome.
Good thing though - he didn't cry. I picked
him up, and he just had the most dazed, confused
look. but he was good!
:}
Anyways - or flight was shorter - and Dmitri
feel asleep the last 15 mins of the flight. Of course.
But we unloaded - got our bags and headed out.
Woohoo!
Our friends Mike and Jennie met us at the
airport. With Sophie of course! :)
Also my parents were there to pick us up.
So we had a nice little entourage ;)
Tuesday Daniel ditched me and Dmitri
and headed out to lunch with Mike.
So they had their 'guy time' and Dmitri hung
out with my side.
Once he got back we headed out and about.
We spent the evening with Mike and Jennie,
and slept over.
The guys enjoyed playing video games together
-all night-
The next morning I woke up to breakfast
being cooked by Daniel and Mike! What?!
AND they were watching Dmitri and Sophie.
Lol - it was like something out of a dream.
XD
That afternoon we went to Gardner Village,
mine and Daniel's fave.
SO we wandered around there for a bit.
We then went to visit Daniel's mom.
Dmitri's cousin Cedric was there - and Dmitri
had a good time playing with him!
Thursday we went to visit Daniel's dad and
brother at work. Got to see the sites and
some of the projects they're working on.
After that we headed over to Daniel's mom
for a bit. Dmitri played with his Uncle Isaac,
Auntie Vanessa and cousin Cedric.
Grandma Mary also babysat him for a bit
while Daniel and I met up with Mike and Jennie
at Ikea. Love it!
After that we separated and Daniel took Dmitri
with him to Mikes - for more gaming.
Jennie and me, plus Sophie gradually made our
way up to their house. After some stops at
Robert's Craft and some others.
Jennie and I also took the kids with us to
Tai Pan Trading {love that place!} and Ross.
Then headed in for the evening.
So we're still figuring out our agenda for
today.
Tonight Daniel's dad planned a get together
up the Canyons. So we are really looking forward
to that!
Dmitri's had a great time playing with Sophie.
They're 3 weeks apart and it's so fun to
watch them play!
Below are some pics from Wednesday morning

ReplyDeleteUgh, flying with kids. I think we are getting to a point in our lives where if we HAVE to go anywhere far, I think we are stuck driving. Blah.
ReplyDeleteSo what is this Gardner Village place? Do you think it would be open the week of Thanksgiving?
Hope you have fun on your nice long vacation.
Yay! Sounds like you guys are having fun! Not so much on the plane, but I can sympathize, that's not fun at all.
