About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

SOOoo....

again with the blog slacking!
Luckily this project excited me enough
that I wanted to post about it! :D
SO Daniel and I decided to check into
a mobile for Dmitri.
Well - umm they're like $50.00. Which
is crazy to me - so we didn't buy one.
But I felt he needed one... so what was I to do?
Well I decided to try and make him one!
Of course, not a fancy smancy rotating musical one
[but how awesome would that be to know how to do?!]
so I just made him a basic.
I had seen these darling birds awhile back, and was
thrilled that they offered a free tutorial for them!
So that's what I did. I thought maybe whales or some
type of fish would have been better for his [apparent] theme
I have going - but hind sight of course.
Anywhos - I'm thrilled with the birds!
They were SO easy to make!
Literally 5-10 mins. And what I love even more?
This project was free! Again with the remnants - love them! :D
I think I might make a few birdies for myself.
They just make me happy to see them.
I think I'd string them all over the house if I thought
Daniel wouldn't mind... :}Oh - and how much do I LOVE clear thread?!
I use it ALL the time!
Best $2 I ever spent :D
Dmitri's crib. The bedding makes me happy :)
checking out the birds...I don't remember if I posted about this guy :\
He was my practice doll using the same [except a boy]
pattern I made my Chloe doll from.
He has an eye patch you can lift up.
I tried to get another pic of the pirate doll,
but Dmitri decided he needed to be in the pic :)

  1. so cute and SO talented. i love that you made a mobile. we received one as a baby shower gift. it just matches his bedding. i think he only became interested in it when we was able to stand and pull on it. good idea to stick it to the ceiling.

  2. Lol yes... Dmitri has a mobile that came with his pack and play. Since he's been able to reach it, I ALWAYS find him tangled in it. So this one got hung from the ceiling because of that :)
