About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

What a day what a day - what a mighty fine day.

So my parents and little sister are here visiting
for the week. Their flight got in yesterday -
and oh my the rain we had!
I went to pick them up from the airport
and the freeway had SO much standing water
and there was so much rain I could hardly see.
Their flight kept getting delayed, but luckily
it worked out well - because I had trouble
finding the lei stands, so it bought me some time!
Well - they got in and the drive back was much
better. There had been an accident on the
opposite side of the freeway when I was
heading to the airport, and traffic was backed
up pretty far. But was cleared [along with the
traffic] on the way back, along with the rain
and water puddles.
We got back to our place and had some delish
pulled pork [it was delish!] and after some
rest headed to the beach. We live pretty close to
the coast - so it was a five minute drive and there
we were! The ones by us aren't the super awesome
ones - but it worked out fine.
Today we all piled in the car -literally :} and
drove down towards Diamond Head to see
some sights. We went to Halona Point. It's
an active blowhole along with some nice
coves. We didn't hike down though. We just
viewed the blowhole from the lookout above.
It was such a gorgeous day! There was some
rain in the morning - but cleared up wonderfully
and got to about 80 degrees. After that we drove
up to Makapuu Point & Lighthouse to do some
whale watching. Oh my - we had to WORK to
see that lighthouse - and lucky for us we saw
a few whales playing around! The walk up in
2.5 miles up a 674 ft high hill.
The walk up started with us trying to help
a couple push their car out of the mud.
They had a rear wheel drive sports car -
and their back wheels just kept spinning.
After about 15 mins, we [Daniel, my dad, mom
and the husband] couldn't get the car out. They
ended up having to call a tow track cause there
cars behind and infront of them were too close
and to the left were boulders. So there wasn't
much leeway :\Anyways - we started our hike. OH MY!
Well we didn't bring a stroller - so Daniel
ended up having to carry Dmitri the whole way.
I also neglected to bring extra diapers and wipes.
Yea - I'm lame :[ And it was HOT! The sun
was beating down on us - and we all got BURNT!
Oh yea - another thing I neglected was sunscreen.
But we got lucky - Dmitri got the least burnt. He
has a little Rudolph nose and a little bit of
red on his arms. But [thank goodness] nothing
too bad - like the rest of us! XD
The Blowhole lookout
Once we got up there - it was gorgeous!
We could see Maui and saw some humpback
whales playing. It was great. Lol and the hike
down was MUCH better!
Walking up to the lighthouse
Lol this is how Dmitri insisted he be carried the whole way up :}
It was so hard finding the whales in the camera - but we got a few shots! After that we headed to Jack in the Box
cause we were starving - and ran into
some 'interesting' people there. There was
this old man hanging around and I think
he had a crush on my mom. It was funny but
awkward, then got annoying. She finally told him
to please go away. He was weird. Then there was
this older lady that would not stop pulling at
her hair. When she'd pull out a piece she'd hold it
in front of her face and play with it. It grossed me
out. I couldn't help but look. It was grossing me out
so much. I just had images of hair in my food.
Blah! Maybe that's what we get for going out
to eat on a Sunday! :[

After lunch/dinner we drove around and took
in the more lush scenic areas.
It was just an awesome day!

Later this evening my parents and sister
watched Dmitri while Daniel and I took
a walk. It was nice for the two of us to
get out and have some alone time. We love
being with Dmitri - but sometimes it's
nice to get out and have adult conversations.

So yes - that was our day! It was lovely :)
Tomorrow we're heading to the North Shore.
And driving down the coast and to the Temple.
Hopefully the weather works out and is
GORGEOUS!
:D

I didn't take this picture - but I wanted to put it on here.
This is the Halawa Tunnel in Kaneohe. It's on one
of the freeways here, and you drive through the
moutains - as you can see in the pic :)
It's pretty cool. The tunnel is pretty long,
and it's kind of trippy when you're about to drive through
cause you have this gigantic mountain in front of you.
We made sure we drove through it for my parents to see.
