About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

Gotta Start Somewhere...

{below this post, there is a 10 month post, about Paige, and a post on Dmitri!}

While I have a lot of backtracking to do {A LOT!}, I figured I had to start somewhere. So yesterday it is!

We've always enjoyed getting out, and sightseeing, but holy cow we've gotten lazy! We decided that we needed to up our game, so we hit up some sights yesterday.
Daniel was sick all last week {fever, body aches, chills, etc}, and was finally starting to feel better. So we took our opportunity.
We went a visited the Saint Paul Church downtown. It was fun, learning about some of the history here.
Dmitri saw all the headstones/memorials, and though it was some type of fun zone for him. I explained what they were, and the some of them were graves. He suddenly got really creeped out, and said, "Hurry! Let's get out of here! That's kind of creepy!" But we stuck around, and he warmed up to them. He wanted to  know what each one said, and what happened to their families.
Dmitri was really into this medallion...
It wasn't so much Paige's cup of tea... but she was so good, and sat nicely on Daniel's shoulders.
These pics are from the outside of the church. It was rebuilt in 1916, due to a fire that they had.
The inside was beautiful! They can seat 600 people, and the architecture was magnificent. There were two ladies inside, setting up for a funeral, so we just quietly looked around ourselves.
Dmitri was checking out all their books {Bible, Hymns, and one other}. Daniel liked all the hanging flags, and asked me to take a picture, so we could look them up later...
My favorite part, the stained glass windows!! They were GORGEOUS! I kept pointing them out to Dmitri. He thought they were cool, but not as cool as I thought they were! xP
After checking out the inside, we headed back out, to check out more of the sites.
We then headed over to the Riverwalk. The Savannah River was so calm. I kept saying to Daniel, how awesome it'd be to live on the river. It was such a gorgeous view!
The two photos on the right, are Dmitri posing for me. I asked him to sit down, and he said, "Okay okay! Here, I will pretend to fish!"
Dmitri brought his new friend 'Tail' with him, and they had a good time playing on the playground.

So that was our Saturday morning! We were done by noon, and it ended with Daniel's chills coming back :( But it was fun while we were out and about! Hopefully we'll have another mini adventure next Saturday!
