Daniel's work picked a bad week to put him on nights.
Tuesday I had a double baby shower to go to, but then
realized too late... that I didn't have a car OR babysitter!
Weds I had a going away party, and wised up. So I took
Daniel to work - then had the car - and went back to pick
him up at 11.
Thursday night we had a CRAZY storm - and ended up
with a power outage. It only last 20 hours for us... but
a lot of other people ended up without power for over
24 hours!!
The store knocked down a tree, which then knocked down
like 20 power lines!! We would have had power sooner,
but turned out the electric company went on strike right
in the middle of the outages... awesome!
So it was just me and Dmitri all afternoon and evening.
It's kind of hard to entertain a child for so long, with
limited light and no electricity....
I am so very grateful for my gas stove {I already loved
gas, but now love it even more!}
Since my phone didn't charge fully the previous night, it
died in the middle of the day - and I realized I have not
one clock, that doesn't run without electricity! When you
don't know what time it is... it makes for a LONG day...
Passing the time...
But Dmitri and I made the best of it. He actually loved
all the candles, and we played some games and read some
books.
We also made beds on the sofa, and fell asleep, until Daniel
came home.
Saturday, we were SO happy that have the power back!!
Daniel had a softball game that morning, so Dmitri and I
went to watch.
This was on the way to the game... at 10am...
Well... first I made a detour to a craft store near by... :}
Then to the game!
It was him and his co-workers. He had a lot of fun, and
did awesome! Dmitri's a good little cheerleader too ;)
He also found a puppy to follow around and harass!

After, I ran out and did some errands. We were looking
at headboards, but decided to wait, until we have a bigger
space! So instead, I opted for large pillows, like I've seen
in models. I found some at Ross, but they were UGLY! I
figured I could recover them... but ended up putting them
back, because the line was {no exaggeration} wrapped
around the store! There were probably 40+ people in line!
So I abandoned my cart... and went to Target. I found two
large Euro pillows, that were just white. I decided to leave
them plain for now... but then changed my mind. I went to
Savers, and found two Euro shams, that were $2.99 a piece.
They were having a sale though, so they were $1.50!! Yay!
And they match perfect :D I'll have to take a pic when it's
all put together {I just washed them last night}
I also found more Pyrex!! So so thrilled!! Still not thrilled
with Saver's prices on most items though... Some stuff you
could buy cheaper, brand new! Anywhos...
Sunday Dmitri and I headed to church. Daniel wasn't feeling
good, so he stayed behind.
My class was small, 3 kids, and somehow we got on the
subject of scratches and scabs... the girls started it... but the
one boy I had was cracking me up!!! LOL he was seriously
getting sick over these girls talking about injuries and blood.
Oh, it was pretty priceless :}
So yes... fun fun! I have some projects to post, when I take
pics of them! :)
MORE PYREX!

Dmitri thought his puzzle pieces needed a photo
shoot...

I do have two projects! This blue quilt I made for
my mom, for her birthday.
This pink one, for my aunt. Their birthdays are
5 days apart.
This was on sale at Target, for $7.50. It was the
last one, with a rip... and I got it for $3!!! And fixed
the hole :)
Some randoms... Dmitri made a frog in Stroller
Strides. This was after he took it apart... for the
billionth time...

He's a little strange....
Fell asleep while playing....

Playing with the trashcan box... for hours...
He even pulled it out of the trash bag today.

Dmitri got ahold of my camera....
Daniel's closet
He couldn't wait till we got home...
So the good news, Daniel is back to days.
He did like nights, even though there was
a lot more going on... but I think I prefer days! :}

That is such a cute pillow. Awesome you got it cheap and could fix it. Is it dwellstudio? I love that line!!
ReplyDeleteYes! It's from Dwellstudio! I LOVE their stuff too! I'm so happy Target carries some :)
ReplyDeleteDmitri just seems like such a good kid. Lucky.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree, not having a clock would drive me CRAZY!!!!
