About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

Out and about

Our routine is still going great.
{minus walking today. Woke up with a sore throat
and foggy head...}
Dmitri's favorite part is the park. Last Thurs we met up
with friends, and went to one park, worked out,
and then to another park and worked out.

At the second park, we were joined by a pre-school,
and Dmitri got to take advantage of their bubbles.
Now he requests bubbles everytime we're at the park.

Friday night, our power went out - well, all the power
in our area.
We decided to go out and get dinner while we waited
for it to come back on.
We picked sushi, and Dmitri fell asleep during the
drive there. We put him in the stroller when we got
there, and he didn't even notice, so we let him sleep.
He ended up sleeping through dinner - but woke up
as we were leaving.
We walked around a bit, and stopped into Petco to
look at the animals.

We had to drop some stuff off at someone's house,
for our ward party Saturday night - so once we
did all that, the power was back on!

Saturday I woke up early, and went to yoga. I hadn't
been in a really long time, but it felt so good! I could
definitely tell I had lost some flexibility! But I felt
great afterwards.
I headed home, and Daniel, Dmitri and I got ready
and headed out to walk the Makapu'u Lighthouse
walk.
Mmm... I don't know what possessed me to want to
walk it. We've only done it once, and that was two
years ago, with my parents and little sister.
I was dying then - and it wasn't any easier this time
around! It may have been harder - because Dmitri's
a lot heavier, and we just brought our regular stroller.
So that was fun pushing uphill for 2 miles.
There was also not a cloud in the sky - so Daniel and
I were pretty burnt after!Once we got to the top, we went to the lookout to
do some whale watching. There were a couple out
there, and we got to see them blowing water and
{even though I missed it} jumping out of the water.

So it was a good afternoon! Dmitri kept yelling,
"Whales, where are you??! Whales?!" Then he'd
copy whatever he heard people saying, and would
say "Hurry up whales! Jump whales, come on!"
After he saw the whales, he then started calling out
the sharks..... mmmhmm... not my favorite. Even
if I'm not in the water! He has a thing for sharks
right now. I don't get it.... :}

That night, our ward put on a Shin Nen Kai celebration.
The gym was decorated really well, and I loved all
the lanterns and lights. There was a ton of food, and
it was all so good!We learned a Japanese children song... Dmitri doing
the movesDmitri playing ball in the courtyardSunday, we had a fourth member of our family. Dmitri's
friend Averie came and stayed with us for the day, while
her parents went to the Pro Bowl.
The two of them get along pretty good - so it was pretty
easy. She came to church with us, and palled around
with me. All the girls in my class loved her! Dmitri got
a hand at being a big brother - and he's a little bossy.
He kept telling her what to do and not to do. She already
has a big brother, so she's well versed in how to handle
them! :)
But he was also really sweet with her, and made sure
she was okay.

He also cleaned his own room. Which meant he picked
up everything off the floor, and stacked it on his tableNot sure if he was doing it to be a stinker, and
monitor his toys... or if he did it to be a good
boy... :}

Monday, Dmitri and I met up with Lauren and Averie,
and Dmitri and Averie played at the park - while Lauren
and I worked out.
After, we walked together to look at some model homes.
Oh my, very pretty... but oh my - very expensive for
their size! I know, that's Hawaii... but I kept comparing
them to homes back on the mainland.
We spent a bit of time there... like a couple hours, because
Dmitri and I left the house that morning at 9:30, and
didn't get home until 2!! Dmitri was pooped from all the
running around, and even slept the whole way back home.

Last night Daniel, Dmitri and I went out with Daniel to get
a basketball. I may have also ventured off, and found some
shoes... I kind of love them. Like really love them!! And I
wore them while watching the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Here are some more pics from Saturday
Z.zzz... not flattering... but I was there too!His rock collection in hand...

Some whales
We couldn't find his "fasses" for our walk, so
he had to borrow mine... Lastly... thought this was a good picture
opportunity - pointing to the words and
the lighting. Then, I realized the little
stinker was peeling the letters off the wall!!
So I gotta fix that. Grumble grumble grumble...

  2. Isn't that crazy?! Yea... she's having a baby. She is crazy.
Shin Nen Kai is a Japanese celebration, to welcome the New Year. It was the first year our ward has done it.

  3. How cool that you saw whales! I'm so jealous, I think that would be awesome! :-) I somehow only seem to be able to get into Housewives of Orange County...it hasn't been on in forever and I think I'm in withdrawl, ha!
