I've been a blog slacker. Apparently I've been too
busy to sit down and blog - or lazy :}
There has been Christmas shopping, cookie making,
post office runs, movie watching and RAIN!
I FINALLY got a full day of rain, and it was wonderful!
So amongst our lounging, we were invited to a birthday
party, for our friends Kaden {3} and Koah {1}.
One of the perks of living here, is it was a pool party!
We haven't been swimming, or even to the beach,
since we've been back home. So Dmitri was up for
getting in the water at first. He just preferred throwing
balloons into the pool.
He did eventually jump in, and once he was in, he
didn't want out! I brought the wrong set of water wings,
one had a hole, so he stayed near the edge, unless I was
in the water with him.
We of course had a blast! And luckily, didn't get rained
on!
Love this guy! :)
Sunday, we headed to church. Only 3 kids from my
class showed up. Everyone else was visiting their families.
Also, one of the teachers wasn't there, so they split her
class up - and I got one more kid. So it was an easy day!
Though they were a little rowdy, since they just got on
break... and Christmas is coming so soon. But I guess that's
to be expected :)
Dmitri went right into his class. He also was a gem in
Sacrament. He sat next to Daniel, and either colored or
played with his trains. He did bonk his head pretty bad
though, and I think it echoed through the whole chapel...
But he's resilient... and was back to playing after a kiss.
Love him!
So normally the Nursery curtain isn't open, and the door
is closed - but this past Sunday, both were open. So I got
to sneak a peek at Dmitri, while I was walking back to
Primary with my class.
He was lining up the Dinosaurs - while wearing a pair
of plastic high heels... nice. He does love some shoes!
I thought it was funny, out of all the girls in his class, he
and another little boy were the ones in the high heels :}
Sunday evening, we were invited to dinner at our friends
house. They had the Polar Express on, and lots of toys
to play with. So Dmitri stayed occupied, and decided it
was better than eating.
After dinner, he and his friend Kaden played hide and
seek under the Christmas tree skirt. They thought it
was the funniest thing ever! It was pretty adorable, and
luckily the tree stayed put! :}
So Monday - Daniel had a day off! The boss' on his floor
decided to give everyone some time off for the holidays,
which is awesome!
We were so happy to have him home :) He also got to
go in late today, and has Friday off... along with a couple
days next week.
So Monday, he finished up his Christmas shopping, and
then we dropped Dmitri off at the Browns - and we saw
Harry Potter.
I've read the first 4 books a couple of times, but haven't
gotten to the last 3 or 4. So I didn't know what to expect
in the movie, which I think made it better. The movie
was pretty intense in my opinion. I think I had a pit in my
stomach the whole time.
Daniel, on the other hand, has read the book - and he
thought the movie was pointless. He said it didn't need
to be made into 2 movies - because they could have
clipped out a ton in part 1. So maybe I'll have to start
reading them again, and see what he's talkin' about! :)
After the movie, we went to pick up Dmitri. I know the
Brown's house is funner than ours... but I didn't expect
tears! LOL he didn't want to leave. He loves playing with
Aiden and Averie!
Yesterday morning, my visiting teachers were coming
over for a visit. I had set my alarm, but had fallen back
asleep, while watching tv in bed.
Dmitri usually wakes up around 8... but yesterday he
slept in until 11!!
So I was woken up with a phone call, that they were
down the street. Oop!
Luckily I had straightened the house up the night before.
But I had to for go the shower... ohwell. It was a really
nice visit - I always enjoy talking with them :)
So that's all we've been up to.
Today, Dmitri called me into his room - and wanted
to show me what he was doing.
He lined up all his cars, and some trains - and had
Woody and Mickey driving.

His little imagination is expanding everyday! Yesterday
he lined up these boxes, and said "Bye mommy." I
asked him where he was going? He said "I go see Goofy.
Bye!" Wouldn't that be nice, to be in Disneyland just
like that ;)
Also, the other day he came over and pretended to
put something in my hand. I asked him what it was.
He thought for a moment... and then said a bird.
So I played along and asked what color it was... and
would let it go fly away... He'd watch and point to
where it flew. He also pretended to feed it, and would
scratch my hand to pet the bird. I love it! Such a fun age!
One of Dmitri's favorite things... clementine oranges!
He eats like 8 or 9 a day. I think it helps that they're so
easy to peel. He's big into doing things by himself lately.
And bonus... I was going to bye The Incredibles the
other day... but didn't. I was going through some of
Daniel's old recorded movies... and found a copy of it!
And it's a good copy! Sooo... that works! I also found a
copy of Sleeping Beauty - which I love, and we don't
have. Awesome!
So here he is... he pulled up a chair to watch The Incredibles.
It's a winner in his book!
Fun fun :)
And for some reason this was cracking me up last
night...! We were watching Dinosaur Train, and he
was screaming it :}
