I guess I should blog... before I get too far behind!
Dmitri and I made it to UT. I spent the day of our
flight cleaning and packing.
I wouldn't have cleaned so much, but someone will
be staying at our house, so I wanted it as clean as
possible!
Our flight went well. We took an overnight flight, and
seriously did not sit down until we got on the plane.
Our flight was leaving a little earlier then scheduled,
so they took us out of line and we went to the front to
drop off our checked bags. Then breezed through
security and to our gate... where we immediately got
on the plane. Blah! But we made it.
Dmitri did great. He stayed up for an hour and then
fell asleep for the rest of the flight to Portland.
I cannot sleep on planes. We had an aisle seat, and I
looked down our row at the two guys... who were
passed out with their mouths wide open... and at a
snoring Dmitri on my lap, and I was pretty jealous.
But the flight didn't seem too long, so not bad.
Getting off the plane, I had a grouchy flight attendant.
She lectured me on putting two bags in the overhead
compartments... which I didn't just do. The other flight
attendant offered to let me! Then she told me I should
really have checked one of my bags... too bad I wasn't
willing to pay the extra to check a carry-on, when I had
to pay for a checked bag already, and check Dmitri's car
seat.
She decided to help me take my roller suitcase off the
plane, which I thought was nice... until I went to get it
back from her, and she rudely told me she could not
follow me off the plane. Uhh... pretty sure I didn't ask
her to! Plus she volunteered to roll my bag down the aisle,
I didn't ask her.
Blah.
On our flight from Portland to Utah... Dmitri had the most
exciting thing happen... he got a window seat!! Well, we...
but he was more excited then me!
Though he thought he was allowed to operate the windows
in the front and back of us... no no. So he was content with
our window.
He liked watching us takeoff and land. He just starred out
the window and said "Ooo look!" He also liked pointing out
all the planes waiting at the gates and the trucks.
We landed in Utah, along with all our bags... and my sister's
picked us up.
So we didn't do much the first couple days. Well, except get
ready for his part, that was a couple days after we got here.
My little sister got her wisdom teeth pulled, and it swelled
bad, so she had to get her face drained, and a tube. So that
was a highlight! :} I wont post pics Cece... don't worry!
His party was really fun though!! Her tube drain was on the
same day of his party, so it was a hectic day! I wasn't even
home when the first guest showed up! Nor was anything set
up, but I don't think anyone waited too long... and we got the
party started!

It was Toy Story themed... so I made Hamm cookies and
alien cupcakes!

All his cousins came, and a few friends... so he had a blast!!
The next day he helped Oma and Papa in the backyard, he
enjoyed swimming in this bucket... {he striped himself down}

and following Misha around the backyard. He was trying to
catch her tongue...
He LOVED the Happy Birthday song being sung to him! I
had to keep lighting his candle, because he wouldn't stop
blowing it out! He didn't want everyone to stop singing to
him! He seriously is such a ham!
We also got to Skype Daniel during the song, so that was
awesome!! I'm so glad he got to see it :)
We seriously haven't done much else.
Saturday we went and visited Daniel's mom, and Dmitri
got to play with his cousin's again, because they were
visiting that day too! He had SO much fun with his cousin
Ewan! They got along so well, and had a fun time together!
They're a year apart, so they're a good pair!
Today we met some friends at Hobby Lobby, and I did a
few crafts. We've also done a lot of swimming. So not bad!
On Dmitri's actual birthday, we celebrated with some cupcakes
and more balloons!!! Which he enjoys popping... much to
his aunties dislike...

A couple randoms...
Fishing for Chloe...
He wanted to have a bandage on his face like his auntie :}
And.... he put himself to sleep, on the kitchen floor...
AND!!! Less then a month until Daniel comes to Utah!!!
AND!!! He's pretty much halfway through with his OR
training!!! YAY!!!
This is his last week of class and homework. After this
week, he only does clinicals!

Ok, that is seriously the cutest picture of Dmitri in the blue bucket! You should send it into a magazine contest. And of course I have to comment (again) on those cupcakes and cookies. Were they hard to decorate? They are the so cute! I want a toy story birthday.
