About Me

My photo
We are Daniel and Sara. We met October of 2006 and were married August of 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then we're kind of in the fast lane. We both got the baby bug pretty early on in our marriage and we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dmitri in August 2008! We couldn't be happier! Daniel is a Captain in the Army and has his Bachelors in Nursing. We're living in HI and so far are enjoying our time here! I'm a stay at home mommy and am looking forward to finishing school. Blah :} Dan enjoys; hunting, basketball, shooting ranges, movies, *sigh - video games and Halloween. Sara enjoys; crocheting, baking, aquariums, sewing, shopping, swimming and trying to get organized. Dmitri enjoys; trying new food, crawling, bath time, stroller rides, electronics and getting into things he shouldn't. It takes all kinds to make up a family - and we cherish and love our little family! :)

Another post.... catchy title ay? ;)

Some highlights of our week!

Well... not a lot of stuff. But we had some
fun days :]

Monday... babysat. Daniel worked.

Tuesday... Daniel worked. I knew I'd be
babysitting the rest of the week, so I needed
to get Dmitri and myself out of the house!

We went to the beach. It was such a nice day,
and one of the warmer days this week.

I remembered to bring a lot of beach toys. And
also our big blanket. Dmitri likes having a place
to call his own on the beach. So he does a lot better
when we lay out the blanket.

The water was chilly at first. So it took some time
to warm up to it.
We went to Ko Olina, it's a resort with man made
Lagoons. We went to the forth one because it has
less waves. And it's not very deep. So Dmitri can
stand in the water and play. I took him out a little
further, so the water went to about my waist and
had him practice his swimming. He wore his adorable
water wings of course - but he know to kick when
I say kick... and he NOW knows to close his mouth
when I say close your mouth! X}
So he's enjoying his swimming lessons. When the
water is warm that is! :]

Dmitri loves filling up his sand bucket with water,
which he did all by himself this time. Lol when the
waves are bigger - he makes me do it. Rightly so,
because I don't want him to get swooped up! :[
But he loves filling his bucket, and then throwing
handfuls of sand in it like he's making potions.
Love that boy!

So we did that. And had fun! He slept great after...
which I loved!
I didn't take any pics because I didn't want to leave
my phone and camera on the beach while I was in
the water. It probably would have been fine, but
it was still nice not to have to worry about them.

Wednesday.... babysat.

Today, Thursday, I set up a play at my house. We
had 8 kids plus Dmitri - so it was a good turn out!
And a good age range, so there was someone for
everyone.
We started off with some water balloons - then let
them run through the sprinkler. Which ended up
being Dmitri's favorite.
He liked picking the sprinkler up and chasing people
with it. Which is a no no when they're not in bathing
suits! But he thought it was too funny.

Then we came inside and chatted while all the kids
played in Dmitri's room.
I guess he needs more playdates. Because while we
were out front playing in the water... he came up to
me, hugged my legs and gave me a big smile! So we
need to get together more so he can play!

After everyone went home, Dmitri took a pretty
good nap.
He woke up cranky though. Well... kind of my
fault I guess.
He has this whole routine {he loves to be chased}
where I have to try to grab him while he runs
around his crib. He thinks it's so fun. And it's cute,
but I was doing something, so I didn't have the time.
So he sat in his room, crying, for 5 minutes.
Blah.

Anyways, we had a much better day then Daniel did!
He didn't have to work today, but he had a meeting
to go to this morning. So he had to wake up at his usual
5Am.
But after his meeting - he went to get one of the cars
inspected, then the registration renewed, and get the
new insurance cards.
Well... ran into a lot of opposition. One place closed a
half hour before he got there... at 12:30.... It only
closes that early on Thursdays. Of course.
Then he was going to fail the inspection because he
didn't have the new insurance cards, so he had to drive
downtown - which he hates.
So yes... lots of driving... and lots of waiting. So he didn't
make it home until almost 4.
And he gets to do it all again tomorrow, with the other
car.
This time he knows what to do and where to go first,
so it should be a lot easier and faster.

Tonight I made myself go jog. I needed it. It felt so good,
even though I pooped out a lot and walked most of it :}

But I love the way it smells outside at night! You can
smell the plumeria {or gardenia} flowers in the air, and
it smells so fresh. Mmm love it!

I forgot to upload these last time... Dmitri eating Molten
Cake at Chili's.
{if you pass up Molten cake... you are not human}Love his face :)Whatever works.... :}Mmm... Dmitri trapped in the Bumbo.
I think this was during the freak out... but
it was too funny not to snap a pic first :}

I get a distress yell from him at least 3 times
a day because he's stuck in it. But he still
insists on the tray being on the Bumbo.
Whaeves...

  1. Hazel wants to play in her old high chair with the tray on, too! It's all fun and games until they realize they're really stuck.

  2. Well I'm not human then, I hate the molting cake at chili's. The one at applebees is WAY better!
Poor Dmitri getting his little bum stuck in the bumbo. But it does look a little funny.

  3. Sara, the bird fabric is from a fabric store here that inherited a bunch of vintage fabric from an out of business fabric store. The perk is it's SUPER cheap, the bad part is I'm sure you couldn't find it online. If you want me to buy and ship you some let me know. Tell me how much you want and I'll let you know how much it will cost. Sound good?

  4. Oh I just love reading about how Dmitri is doing. He is so hilarous and he probably knows it too.

And of course, I miss running in Hawaii - in the evening. It is soo cold here to run outside and doesn't smell nice even air isn't clean.

    Miss you guys!
