This week has gone WAY too fast!
I think because I have to speak in
Sacrament tomorrow.
:[
Hopefully my talk {and Daniel's talk}
will go well - and that we wont get asked
to speak again for a LONG time!
Wednesday Dmitri and I took the car
in to get the oil changed.
We walked the mall - and had lunch
at Sparro's.
Thursday Dmitri had his 1 year
check up.
Everything went great - except that
it took me 45 minutes to find parking,
and that it was during Dmitri's nap time.
So the poor guy cried through most of
his appointment.
But he's right on track with his stats
Height: 30 3/4"
Weight: 21 lbs
Head: 17 3/4"
So he's in the 85th percentile for his
height, 35th and head circumference 35th.
So he's moving right along!
He also got some more vaccinations, and
was supposed to get his blood drawn
to check for anemia, and a TB test but
they didn't bother with it.
So I'm happy with that. And I'm sure
Dmitri is too.
Thursday was the start of Daniel's 4
days off. YAY! So he slept most of Thursday
and then we went to the mall to walk around
later on that night.
Friday was one of those rough days. I
think we all woke up on the wrong side
of the bed.
Daniel and his friends had a LAN party
that night, and I went over to Chelsea's
to watch Mona Lisa Smile.
Dmitri was in bed by 7 - so it worked out.
:]
Today Daniel's LAN party continued, and
I've been in Spring Cleaning mode.
I'm not totally done - but getting there!
So I've finished a few projects this past
week.
I mentioned before that I made my dad
a present for his birthday; it was a blanket.
Here's the pic.
I also made my two little sisters some
bags since they both started school.
Candice got the green one - she starts
her first year of High School - which is
10th grade in UT.
My sister Cassie got the orange one.
She started at the Art Institute {pretty
sure that's where} and is going to school
to become a chef.
So the bags are made from the legs of
some sweatpants. I bought them with the
intention of cropping them - so I had the
extra left over.
Easiest project ever - and it was totally
free!
The design on them are of Matryoshka
dolls. Which I have always loved!
I also made a new bumper for Dmitri's
bed. It was fairly easy - but not so
inexpensive :[
It's fun to make things - but sometimes
the cost effectiveness isn't worth it.
Lol this was one of those cases - but I'm
still really happy with the turn out!

These are seriously the funnest thing to make!
So Daniel got me 2 roses for our two
year anniversary. I didn't have a vase
for them - so I headed down to Goodwill.
I found the prefect vase!
I'm totally loving it - and the flowers :)
A couple days old - but still looking okay!

I also found a brand new home fragrance
warmer. I've wanted to get a new one
for a while - but didn't want to spend the
money on it. So I found one at Goodwill
for $2.99!
I'm totally stoked!
Love it.
Lol so that's our week.
Woot woo!
Wish us luck on our talks!

That crib bumper is sooo cute! I don't know how much it cost, but I'm guessing that it would have been pretty pricey to buy at a store. I'm totally impressed with your skills! What a cool girl you are! :)
ReplyDeleteWay cute crib bumper and bags for your sisters. Just an FYI on the covered buttons, they're so cute but they come apart if much pressure is put on them and we've found them in Hazel's mouth. So, they'll probably be fine since they're on a bumper but just watch for them falling off.
ReplyDeleteand....HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
ooo-eee can't wait to see all your projects in person! Good luck on your talk! 2 years - ain't it nuts how fast it goes?! congrats!
ReplyDeleteThat crib bumper is really cute. I really like the colors.
ReplyDeleteRachael - I found that out about the buttons later that night. Dmitri was able to pop them off easily - which is scary, and a bummer because I really liked them. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks guys!! The talk went good - i speed read - but it still went good :}
Ummm...can your family adopt me so I can get hooked up on your AWESOME crafts? :P I'm kidding, but seriously...I'm always so impressed with your cute ideas and how great they turn out!!
