I'm going to go a bit backwards on this post, starting with yesterday.
Dmitri had his 3 yea
r check up yesterday. Of course it had to be on a
day, that Daniel had a mandatory 5am training... so that meant Dmitri
and I had to be up and ready to leave by 4:30.
I did not sleep well that night. My dinner didn't agree with me, so I spent
the night tossing and turning. When I finally did fall asleep, Dmitri woke
up at 3, to use the bathroom. Took him potty, got him situated and back
to sleep, and then head back to my room. I look at the clock, and it's 3:19.
I knew I had to be up soon... so I just laid in bed, and tossed and turned
some more. Blah!
After we dropped Daniel off, Dmitri and I headed back home. I was hoping
he'd fall asleep on the drive back, but no go. So when we got home, I turned
one of his fave shows on, and I snoozed on the sofa, like a good mom :}
So his appointment was at 11:15, and we lucked out with an awesome
parking spot, so we were 15 minutes early.
Of course it still wasn't enough time to fill out paper work... because right
as we sat down, they called us back.
They did his height, weight and vitals first. Dmitri did great. I was worried
about him being measured, since he FREAKED out when they tried to
measure him at Disneyland, back in November. Luckily he obliged, and
stood there like a good little boy, and then let them weigh him. He liked this
nurse, because the guy was wearing a Superman shirt :}
So Dmitri is;
37.9 inches, and in the 65%
34.17 lbs, and in the 75%
BMI is 16.82
I was seriously shocked that he was in the 75% for weight! His waist is SO
skinny!! But he's a pretty solid kid, so I guess that's why.
I didn't know they started to do the BMI at 3 either. But his BMI is really
good! I wish mine was that good.............
Once we were done with all that, we went back to see the doctor. We saw
the doctor he's assigned to, and since we've been going here, we've only
seen her 3 times. Each time, Dmitri has never really been fond of her.
She's really nice, but for some reason he just sits on my lap, and stares at
her. He would not say a word to her. He'd shake his head yes or no, but
would not open him mouth.
The doctor asked questions about his developments and all that. Then
she asks if we've started potty training. I said yes, he's potty trained. She looks
at me and says, "Completely potty trained?" I said yes. She looks at me and
says, "Night and day?" I said yes.... She was really surprised, and told Dmitri
good job! So it was a proud moment for Dmitri and me :}
He did let her examine him, and that all went well, until she laid him down,
to check his stomach and groin area. He flipped out! I ended up having to
hold him down. Poor guy. But he survived, and got stickers and a new book.
Once we left, he says, "Mommy, can I have my stickers?" And the doctor
that was observing says, "Wow! He does talk!" LOL so Dmitri got a clean bill
of health!
So more backtracking, Daniel was on call last week, and the poor guy kept
getting called in! He still had to work from 10-6, but can get called in any time
before, or after that.
So last week, he got a 3am wake up call. So he dragged himself out of bed, and
headed to work. Turns out they really didn't need him, and didn't even call in
the on call tech - which they have to do, if they call the nurse in. The girl running
things that night, just panicked, and was putting priorities on things that weren't
proprieties. So he stayed until 6, so he didn't feel like he wasted a trip - and because
of that, they let him come in at 3 that afternoon, instead of 10!
He also had a 12am wake up call, but that one really was an emergency surgery,
and then he had to go in last Saturday, at 2pm. So it was not a good on call week.
But this week he's back on a normal shift, minus 3 days of 5am trainings, all about
teamwork. Poor guy :}
So we also celebrated our 4th anniversary last week. We had lunch at Costco, so
that was eventful. Daniel also ended up having to work.
So more fun things, last Saturday, I went with some girls from book club, to see
The Help. It was the first book we read, in book club. I thought it was an awesome
book, and a great movie! I thought they were pretty true to the book. It was a
really fun night - and we have a great group of girls!
We also had a book club meet-up, last Thursday. We didn't pick out a book that
month, but instead, it was bring your favorite cookbook. So we did that, and then
had some dinner and chocolate fondue for dessert. SO yummy!
Dmitri also got to go to a birthday party, for his friend Mikey. It was Toy Story
themed, and they got to make fun party bags!
So if you look at the second picture in, Dmitri tried to take back his present :}
It's so hard not being the birthday boy!
He had a great time though! He just wanted to be outside, the whole time.
Filling up the gas tank, at the party
So speaking of birthdays, and turning 3, here are Dmitri's 3 year pictures! I took them
with my new lens, but need to work on camera stabilization! The indoor ones aren't as
clear as I had hoped. Haha, it also doesn't help, that he moves a million times a second!
Love this boy of mine!!
If you can't tell, he was being quite the chatty Kathy... :}
These outside ones, turned out much clearer. But there are less of them, because he
wouldn't sit still!! :}
He also told me he was 5 {bottom right picture, and started saying the numbers he
knows in Spanish {top left and right picture}, and he had something on his hand,
second on the left.
Rolling around.... :)
Dmitri got a reward for being good at his doctors appointment - more chalk. The last
batch had seen better days, and I think this new batch isn't far behind... But we had
fun today!
Of course his Moks had to play! We don't know why he calls them that... But he Papa
Smurf, is his Papa Don, and I get to be Vanity Smurf, because Vanity has a flower. So
he must be a girl :} I think he dubbed himself Handy Mok.
We had a ward dinner last week, and Dmitri had a blast! He spent most the time running
around with friends, and getting into trouble... IE, him and Isaac, looking for goodies in the
fridge... They were so cute, they ended up playing Buzz and Woody. Dmitri was Woody,
and Isaac was Buzz. It was too cute!
So now that I've covered all the fun we've had... onto the random pics!
He had a great time at Gymnastics last week. The last 15 mins, the kids got to do free
play. Dmitri picked trampoline on the first day, and spent the whole 15 minutes on it.
The next time he played with the hula hoops, balls and the rope swing. He told me the
trampoline was his favorite.
Balance beam in the first pic, and then warm-up in the second. They were making
pizzas, and picking toppings {straddling their legs, and stretching}.
This week he didn't have Gymnastics, because they're on a summer break this week,
so more nastics fun next week!
One night, last week, he asked for some chocolate milk. While I was making it, he
snagged some cookies out of the fridge, and started chomping away! Sneaky...
Testing out his new chalk, on his chalkboard... and saying, "Ta-da!"
My back was killing, and I asked him to walk on it, or drive his cars on it. Neither one
worked well... but of course he needed a turn... :}
Playing with his new favorite toy... a box from Costco... It's been a stage, mountain,
house, elevator, etc...
And last night, he fell asleep before bedtime...
This picture speaks for itself... but here's the story, that went along with it...
"
So this was the icing on the cake... I thought he was just grabbing a piece, I did NOT expect
this...
Sigh... and fun at Target!
Times two!
